By now, your college has laid out their plans for fall semester 2020 – but alas, just like how the wind can change, so can those plans. Here’s how you can prepare for a quick and smooth move out if campus decides to shut down.
Let’s start at the beginning. You’ve decided to live in the residence halls for the semester. Great! Instead of bringing your entire bedroom with you to your new dorm room, you will want to pack at least one or two large suitcases with clothing and other essentials. If you pack light, it will make moving far easier, and will save you money in the long run.
Decorating your room is up to you – if you want to furnish your room to make it feel “homier”that is your prerogative. However, we suggest you don’t bother simply because of how quickly plans can change. Maybe bring a picture of your dog or cat.
Lastly, (and please forgive us if this a totally shameless plug) you can use Dorm Room Movers’ services to help you expedite your process. We’ll send you boxes and tape to pack up your stuff. Then, you can schedule a date & time for us to pick it up, and we’ll either store or ship it for you. The biggest help of all is that by using DRM, you now have one less thing to worry about, so you can focus on getting home safely.
