Ah, Spring break, the most coveted part of the spring semester. Whether you’re traveling, volunteering, working, or studying, there’s always something exciting going on during this week long extravaganza..
In this week’s post, we are going to focus on spring break destinations that are accessible and popular among the college cohort. The best part? These places won’t break the bank!
Full disclosure: we aren’t travel agents, just folks who have done our fair share of traveling during our time in college. So be sure to do your research when planning your trip.
Cancun
You’ve probably heard the name before and for good reason, too. It has all the makings of the quintessential spring break adventure; clean, white-sand beaches, budget friendly, all-inclusive packages, and a vibrant nightlife.
On top of all that, you can check out the Chichén Itzá; a Mayan archaeological site and one of the most notable and recognized landmarks on the Yucatán.
If you’re feeling a bit nautical, try the Isla Mujeres Catamaran trip. Isla Mujeres is a tiny island just east of Cancun, Mexico. You’ll board a beautiful catamaran and take a trip from Cancun to Isla Mujeres under the warm sun and the gorgeous Caribbean waters.
Miami Beach
Can you feel the buzz of Miami Beach? Of course you can! Miami Beach, home to the wildly popular South Beach, hosts a beautiful mix of cultures, residents, and travelers. It must be all of the high-end stores, incredible food, and immensely lively nightlife (especially South Beach) that attracts all walks of life.
For the more laid back visitors, exploring the stunning Art Deco that’s taking over the neighborhoods of Miami will provide you with all of the entertainment you need.
The Bahamas
The Bahamas is easily the #1 destination for spring breakers. Be it the rich, white-washed shores, duty-free shops, fishing, scuba diving, or the wild pigs that roam the beaches, there’s something for every visitor.
With 700 islands making up the Bahamas, it can be tough to decide which of them to our. While island hopping is certainly possible, it could get incredibly expensive quickly. Therefore, we recommend that you stay put and enjoy whatever island you’ve decided on.
If you want to feel royal, stay at The Cove at Atlantis, Paradise Cover. While this may NOT be budget friendly, it is worth the price for paradise. If you want something a bit easier on the wallet, The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar will do just fine.
Regardless of what you do or where you go, Spring break is what you make of it. Whatever you do, give yourself time to relax and rejuvenate let off the steam so you can finish the semester strong. Cheers and have fun!
