From the resources that a majority of the worlds population is privy to such as fuel, food or even clean water to being able to walk to the nearest store without any incidents – the fact remains that our every day essentials all come from somewhere, and it’s about time we reflect on it.

Universities, Colleges, and Schools in general all have one major common denominator – PEOPLE…

Influential people like Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin, Nikola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell and many others who have played a significant part in shaping our lives so we can live the way we do today.

Time traveling back to where it all began…

Did you know that Universities were first established back in the medieval time period of 1088?

Diving deeper – the first universities were developed in Europe. Starting with twelve operating

institutions, universities became popular by sating Europe’s countrymens thirst for knowledge in law, grammar, rhetoric and dialectic logic, arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy.  Law was one of major key components to creating universities and was also the only method of practice available to commoners in the event of persecution from the empire and/or church.  In the span of four hundred years, the number of universities expanded from twelve to twenty-nine.

Fast forward nine centuries later, and there are over nine thousand universities world wide. The education system has revolutionized the way we speak, structure our economies, cultivate our nations resources, and the way our cultures are influenced and assisted. Education has possibly altogether unlocked the mysteries of the explainable in science and to this day continues to have a considerable amount of influence on political and religious obstacles.

Some food for thought…

What role do YOU think universities, colleges, schools and education in general have played in your life?

Although most people believe an education should automatically equal a specific income or success rate, the reality is – it’s the little things we take for granted each and every day that have played the biggest role.

Every day things like…

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Comprehending
  • Communicating
  • Designing
  • Discovering
  • Organizing
  • Creating
  • Acting
  • Memorizing
  • Computing
  • Engineering
  • Building
  • Growing
  • Buying
  • Spending
  • Selling
  • Developing
  • Cultivating
  • Expressing
  • Learning
  • Assisting
  • Teaching
  • Helping
And many, Many, MANY others… Maybe it’s time to keep track of all of the teachers and professors who helped you become – YOU! ;0)
