Opinion: Thoughts on fall semester 2020 so far

It’s difficult to fathom that it’s October when a moment in 2020 has felt like an eternity, but we’re still here despite all the chaos. Everything’s changed since the pandemic, so we’re just finding ways to live safely. Fall semester will end in just a little over a month, so here’s my opinion about this extremely short and pandemic ridden semester.

Campuses nationwide and Dorm Room Movers have made tremendous efforts to implement and enforce health safety measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, but despite all of the efforts, I still feel like I’m on edge simply because of how quickly things can turn.

The best way to describe this feeling is like being on-call 24/7. Your actions are extremely limited because you can receive a call any moment of the day, so you do your best to plan your day around it. That feeling of anxiousness looms over like being under a heavy blanket.

I’ve managed to curb the extra stress by keeping myself busy at work since it’s mainly one of the constants in my life. It’s my hope with the work we’re doing behind the scenes can provide positive moving experiences for our students during the pandemic. Dorm Room Movers will be ready to help any students move out at the end of fall semester. Stay healthy and safe out there!
