If You Could Spend A Day With Your Hero…

The world as we know it is in a constant flux of change. From all of the shiny new gadgets to the latest ‘how to’ app, we’re all pretty much a click or two away from having the answer to any question in 20 seconds or less.

So, why is it that with all of the information available to us, we still search for something outside of ourselves for motivation?

We’ve literally transformed ourselves from singular, self-motivated individuals to being expressive within a community to earn our self-acceptance. My theory is that instant gratification is no longer enough. We seek approval from our peers, coworkers, friends and family more often than we all care to admit. This means we either have too much time on our hands, or the time we have is being used on unimportant things or in unimportant ways.

With that in mind… The role or heroic efforts and contributions is still admirable to us all. It’s something that connects us to one another on a soulful level. Take the recent news of Nelson Mandela’s passing for example. His achievements have, without a doubt, had an impact on not just the communities of South Africa, but also the entire world. The world is truly in mourning of his passing.

While we’re on the topic of heroes, take a moment to think about who your hero is, or perhaps who you seek inspiration from. Sure, some may wear a political title or may not hold a public persona at all. Regardless of the social status they have in the world, their presence means something to you and has uplifted you, made you laugh, or helped you achieve the successes you’ve sought to accomplish in one way or another.

So my question to you is… If you could pick anyone to spend a day with, who would it be?
