The web has a plethora of information to search, sift and sort through. With it’s never ending list of resources, it can be somewhat overwhelming to go through it all. More often than not, the topics can become convoluted -leaving you with a questionable solution or answer to your inquiry. 

It’s not always about finding the first Google result to get your answer.  Sometimes, it’s about educating yourself on what you actually need to know. 

Below is a list of educational resources that will not only provide those answers, but may come in handy for the stack of projects you have awaiting for you. 

# 1: Open Educational Resources
Open Educational Resources is a worldwide learning network of shared teaching and learning materials available for FREE online. Grouped by subject area and grade level (primary through post-secondary), the educational platform allows users to navigate through topics with ease. 

# 2: Coursera 
Coursera is an educational platform that has partnered with the top universities and organizations around the world to offer courses online that anyone can take for FREE. Coursera’s technology enables their partners to teach millions of students.

# 3: Open Yale Courses
Open Yale Courses provides FREE and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale University. The aim of the open Yale courses is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn.

# 4: Udacity 
Udacity offers accessible, affordable and engaging classes that anyone can take, anytime.

# 5: Open Culture
Open Culture brings together high-quality cultural & educational media for the worldwide lifelong learning community. Their whole mission is to centralize online content, curate it, and give people access to quality content whenever and wherever they want it. With free audio books, free online courses, free movies, free language lessons, free e-books and other enriching content — they offer a one stop shop to educational options and topics.

# 6: Learnist 
Similar to Pinterest, Learnist is an interactive platform that allows users to collect teaching and educational content. A user can download the app to their computer, phone or mobile device and select images that they want to learn about. From there, the user will have a learnist board of streamed content. 

# 7: Khan Academy 
Khan Academy is a not-for-profit educational platform available to both students and teachers. Their services are FREE of charge and provide an extensive library of content, including interactive challenges, assessments, and videos from any computer with access to the web.

# 8: College Open Textbooks 
College Open Textbooks is focused on driving awareness and adoptions of open textbooks to more than 2000 community and other two-year colleges. This includes providing training for instructors adopting open resources, peer reviews of open textbooks, and mentoring online professional networks that support authors opening their resources.

# 9: TED-ED
TED-Ed’s goal is to create lessons worth sharing and to spread great ideas. Within the growing TED-Ed video library, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed platform. This platform also allows users to take any useful educational video and easily create a customized lesson around the video. Users can distribute the lessons, publicly or privately, and track their impact on the world, a class, or an individual student.              

# 10: MentorMob 
MentorMob’s online learning platform allows anyone with a passion for what they do to consolidate websites, videos, blogs, and more into Learning Playlists. So, instead of searching alone, people all around the world can work together to show off what they know and learn from each other. Everyone deserves the chance to discover their talents and nobody should be kept from realizing their potential because they don’t have access to a good education, mentors, and other curious minds.


Whether you’re in college now, will be or decided it simply wasn’t your thing – don’t give in to the misconception that education should be a paid for service. That doesn’t mean your college degree isn’t worth it, because it absolutely is! It simply means that education is an invaluable resource that should be utilized.  Learning is all about growing.
